About the role
QoT places test leaders with clients across banking and payments, iGaming, telco, insurance, and general technology. As a Lead / Test Manager, you'll provide delivery-focused quality leadership across programmes, projects, and client portfolios, defining test strategy, governance, planning, reporting, and team coordination. The specific client and domain will be confirmed as part of the placement process.
What you'll do
- Define and maintain test strategy, governance structures, and quality objectives for programmes or projects.
- Lead test planning, estimation, resourcing, scheduling, and dependency management.
- Coordinate execution across testing and quality engineering activities, managing risks and escalations.
- Provide structured reporting on status, quality, risk, and readiness to leadership and client stakeholders.
- Provide leadership and coaching to assigned engineers, supporting development and accountability.
- Engage client stakeholders to align expectations and maintain trust through transparent delivery leadership.
What you'll need
- 8+ years' experience in test management or quality engineering leadership across complex programmes.
- Experience managing test strategy, estimation, delivery reporting, and stakeholder governance.
- Commercial awareness - resourcing, utilisation, and scope control.
- Strong executive and client communication, with experience in escalation management.
- Team leadership and people development experience.
Nice to have
- Exposure to banking/payments, iGaming, telco, or insurance client environments.
- ISTQB CTAL-TM or equivalent test management certification.
- Agile / Scrum / SAFe-related certification.
- Experience with enterprise QA metrics and reporting tools (e.g. Power BI, Jira dashboards).
Work setup
- Location: Cape Town, Johannesburg, or Durban, with hybrid/remote flexibility depending on client requirements.
- Employment type: contract, with length set by the client engagement. Some roles are fixed-term, others roll on an ongoing basis.
- Some travel to client sites may be required depending on engagement.
